Kevin Fowler Down-home humor and heartfelt sentiment are prominent themes in Kevin's music, and as
important as a good beat. A native of Amarillo
who grew up listening to Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, Kevin rounded out his musical education
in Los Angeles attending the Guitar Institute of Technology, and then returned to Texas to join
the award-winning hard rock band Dangerous
Toys. He dabbled with his own Southern rock
band, Thunderfoot, in the late '90s before turning
his full attention to his own vision of music.
Cory Morrow Morrow’s first single, “He Carries Me,” continues
the sentiment, albeit directed toward a higher
realm. While themes of salvation and redemption
are not new in Morrow’s work, on Vagrants
And Kings he approaches such weighty issues
with the fervor of a true believer. "Lord, You Devil,"
a Radney Foster co-write, is a humorous tune
offering props to a mysterious, omniscient
God. Morrow’s first radio single, the
impassioned, gospel-tinged "(Sometimes I
Stumble, That’s When) He Carries Me,"
perhaps best relays where Morrow has landed
in recent days. Says Morrow, "For so long I tried
to do it on my own. The thing is, you’re not
supposed to do it alone. Why would you want to?" --

No, the only band to have hit the nine-album mark without so much as a bum note is Denton, Texas’ Bowling for Soup. And there’s no debating those stats, so don’t even try! --

Jason Boland Between the East and West Coasts, and still a good distance from the third coast of Nashville, is found a place known as the Dust Bowl. It’s a place where art meets the everyday life of common America, and it has produced some of the most distinctive American art ever. The tradition of that region has produced the
music of Woody Guthrie. It provided the root system for the genius of Merle
Haggard. It is the tradition of Bob Childers, a Red Dirt icon, who learned how to present the forgettable man unforgettably, and it’s the tradition that can be heard
in the songs of Jason Boland.
Billy Joe Shaver "Billy Joe Shaver may be the best songwriter alive today"
- Willie Nelson Billy Joe Shaver never became a household name, but his songs -- including "Good Christian Soldier," "Willie the Wandering Gypsy and Me," and "I Been to Georgia on a Fast Train" -- became country standards during the '70s and his reputation among musicians and critics didn't diminish during the ensuing decades. One of the best synopses of Shaver's upbringing is his own song, "I Been to Georgia on a Fast Train." When he sings, "my grandma's old-age pension is the reason that I'm standing here today," he ain't kidding. The "good Christian raising" and "eighth grade education" -- not to mention being abandoned by his parents shortly after being born, working on his uncles' farms instead of going to high school, and losing part of his fingers during a job at a sawmill -- Read More

Alpha Rev Frontman Casey McPherson’s gripping, emotional songwriting dares others to search out hope in the bleakest of circumstances and the unique instrumentation pays homage to the classical music that gave him his love for the art. Sam Sliva & the Good With roots in rock, blues and country, it's hard to put a label on Sam Sliva and the Good, the Austin based band that released its debut album, SEE YOU AROUND, in the summer of '08. Drawing comparisons to the likes of the Killers, Steve Earle, and Texas legend Robert Earl Keen, Sliva and his trio lack nothing in the way of style. And recently they've had no shortage of compliments either. Texas Music Magazine likened the group to "channel[ing] the best of The Band and the Counting Crows."
